Think of 2016 as an opportunity to better yourself and create measurable, obtainable goals for the upcoming year. There is always room for improvement, both physically and mentally. Exercise more often.

Exercise is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Instead of fitting in exercise when you have the time, incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Pick a few select days each week when you can dedicate time for at least 30 minutes of working out. It will feel less like a chore if exercising is something you can look forward to. Exercising will not only make you healthier, but it will also make you stronger and more focused. 

Get more sleep.

A full night’s sleep sometimes seems impossible with all the hustle and bustle of daily life. Proper sleeping patterns are key to a healthy lifestyle. Try to find time to get in a solid 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Also, go to bed and wake up at roughly the same times each day to set a routine. You will find yourself more alert and more productive the next day.

Manage stress.

Make an obtainable goal to minimize stress. This will not only improve your mind, but it can also make you feel physically stronger. Properly managing stress can help create a healthy, balanced lifestyle. If you are feeling overwhelmed, try taking a step back from stressful situations and take a break to de-stress.

Cook at home.

Manage your nutrition by cooking at home. One effective way to both save money and eat healthier is to cook for yourself without adding extra fatty ingredients. Choose to cook meals that will help you reach your nutritional goals. Plan meals ahead of time so you won’t be as tempted to turn to take-out.
